about

It's funny... More so in smaller markets, locally successful artists get trapped in this bubble where they've conquered a small city and it makes them feel that they are much bigger than what they really are. In the course of that lack of humility, they often suffer and fail to execute in the things that could take them even further as artists! It's a sickness that I've seen many suffer from and I'd be lying if I didn't admit that that bug bit me a time or two before...

lyrics

Verse 1
Locally famous, nationally unknown, and he's a beast when ripping on the microphone/Every week all the songs he performs is the same, and at his shows, all the girls they be going insane/ in his mid 40s with a hold rope chain, he used slang dope and Cain, known to toat that flame/ see outside the city they didn't know his name, but it's all good he's content with just the local fam/I walk in the mall I get a thousand daps, I mean for real tho come on man,,what's fucking that/Nemo & Devine touring, Cl over sees, but I got whole city messing with me/I'm known in my home town, known for putting all the shows down, all the girls up in my city wanna go down/ and for the dudes that ain't hating they all call me they brother, and there ain't club in the city that I got to pay cover/ turn up man for real man this is the life, I performed at Roots twice and all my home boys boasting he so nice/ lyrically top notch and his music was so balanced, It's a shame he never made it, he had so much talent/over 7 billion people occupying the earth, but he never looked beyond his city of a couple hundred thousand....

Verse 2
See the problem with local stars are the yes yes mans, it's no just yes yes yes yes you the man/ I mean come on mr burly beast are you a fraud? Take it abroad if you really that nice, don't be afraid to expand/ I mean you could inspire kids all over the world, instead of rapping for your homies and to impress your girl/ see now a days anybody can just step in the booth, but can you hit the road and still execute/ the definition of local is when you rep your hood, but when you are no longer local, the hood reps you/ bragging to your auntie man the club never charge me, new album in your hand CDRs with the sharpie/ my Mentions popping all my homies they RT, 11 likes the minimal they love me on IG/ My coworkers love it when I spit on our lunch break, bars down they throat until they all got a stomach/ I was never brave enough to chase my dreams, it's more comfortable to stay where the hood loves me/ Some say I'm a coward but I say I got the power, I'd rather be a shark in a pond than a fish in the sea..
